The Imagination Movers story is the ultimate example of the power of imagination. In 2002, four New Orleans friends– Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche, and Scott “Smitty” Smith– had an idea.
They thought kids wanted and deserved music that spoke to them, not down to them. So, they started gathering after their kids’ bedtimes to write songs and brainstorm ideas about a children’s television show.
Almost 20 years later, you can now watch the 76 episodes of their Emmy-winning “Imagination Movers” TV show, which originally aired on Disney Junior from 2008 to 2013, and now available on the Disney+ streaming service.
The Movers’ songs, a catalog of more than 250 original compositions, continue to populate the playlists of families everywhere.
Recently, 8 Pound Gorilla Records released “Happy To Be Here,” the Imagination Movers’ new, five-song EP; it promptly entered the Top 10 of Billboard’s Kid Albums Chart and the song Leaves Fall Down received an honorable mention in the Great American Songwriting Contest.
Volatile Skateboards has teamed up with the Imagination Movers to bring you the first officially licensed skateboard deck.
